For the Love of Old: Vintage Closet, Vintage Kitchen
I love old things. A good vintage find is one of life’s great pleasures. Combine a pre-loved parasol with a tasty breakfast, and I’m well and truly a happy camper. Welcome to Vintage Closet Vintage Kitchen, where these two basic human needs are definitely met.
The first thing you will notice about this suburban gem is the SPACE. As an inner-city dweller, I’m accustomed to cramped laneway digs and perching at tiny table tops to get my caffeine fix. At Vintage Closet Vintage Kitchen, the layout is generous and expansive. It is light-filled and pleasant. There’s free Wi-Fi and even a retro Sega in the corner to keep you happy for hours, if you’re so inclined.
But let me just emphasise the great innovation of this establishment a little further. There is food, and vintage clothing. Shoes, dresses, sunglasses, furniture and delightful bric-a-brac are all waiting for you to peruse while you anticipate the arrival of your felafel plate and coffee.
I’m sure I’ve already said enough to make many of you hop on the next bus to Coorparoo. If you’re not quite sure just yet, did I mention most things are around $30? I spotted a classic 1980s Anthea Crawford blazer for $25!
Another plus in my book: breakfast goes until 2pm, and lunch starts at 10am. This cancels out the dreaded in-between-time (which seems to happen to me a lot) when I arrive somewhere at 11.30: too late for breakfast, too early for lunch. While the food is nothing spectacular, it’s all homemade, very reasonably priced and they cater for allergies.
Go now, for the love of old!

Hot Tip: If you’re a petite bride chasing the perfect vintage wedding dress, I saw an absolute stunner just waiting to be whisked off for your special day.
