New Foodies' Haven: Scrumptious Reads

A new foodies haven has opened, proudly denouncing the notion that the bookstore is dead and serving up gastronomic delights in paperback form. You may have heard of Scrumptious Reads before, their cosy little pop up store, ingeniously constructed of 8000 paper cups, caused quite the stir in South Bank last year when it opened it’s doors in early September.
The team behind Scrumptious Reads has recently made a move to James Street, leaving behind the paper cups in favour of a slightly more permanent residence. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the precinct’s main drag the store’s new locale is an industrial hideaway of sleek wood installations that take clever shelving to a whole new level.
It is the whimsical wooden apple tree however, which seems to envelope the store with its branches, that takes center stage. They have created a store fit out that, whilst being very sleek and grown-up, easily reminds one of the charm that bookstores held as a child.
With shelves upon shelves of food related reading, you will find everything from recipe, history, nutrition and even some food themed fiction thrown in as well. And with a café soon to open we’re sure this spot will become a favourite for Brisbane food fanatics.

Books and food. Two of my favourite things! I can see this little foodie haven quickly becoming the apple of my eye.
You and me both, Kristie! There's no better combination. Unless you count books and wine. Or food and wine. Hmmm...
