NYC vs. London Fashion Week: The Street Style Face Off

As the sartorial style set made a mad dash across the pond last week, we thought we’d partake in a little style stalking. We couldn’t help but notice that, post New York Fashion Week, the wardrobes of our favourite fashion heavy-hitters had morphed - taking on a distinctly British flavour.

A decidedly lady like feel seems to have affected the fash pack. The downtown denim we lusted after in New York has been traded in for muted florals, hemlines have been noticeably lowered, and even the duchess of feathers and fluoro (Ms Anna Dello Russo!) has taken it down a notch for the British capital. But don’t worry, the sequin action is still in full swing!

So… how do London’s slightly more subdued efforts stack up against the print and colour pandemonium we saw in New York? Has the myriad of coats and sensible hemlines deterred us? My verdict is that while it may not be as bright, eccentric, or brave, the London look is no less chic. And isn’t that what good British style is all about?
