Spring Menus Are Here!

One of the best things about coming into a new season is getting to see (and taste!) the new menus that begin to emerge from our favourite restaurants. As the weather warms, we’ll be seeing fewer stews, heavy meats and soups, and more herbs, bright colours and fresh flavours.
We took stock of some of the new Spring menus on our radar, and came up with our picks to get your mouth watering.
The Chelsea | Paddington
We love the breakfast at this Barracks institution and, happily, the dinners are just as good. The Chelsea’s Spring menu reads beautifully and the food sounds fresh and light.
My Pick | Fregola, guanciale, spring peas, mint, truffled pecorino.
Shucked Coffee House | Newstead
We’re loving the new all-day brunch menu at Shucked. So many choices, with super-cute names; these guys are making brunch cool.
My Pick: Cuca Sardines with confit garlic, caramelised lemon, microherbs, and housemade tomato relish. Aptly (and slightly disturbingly) named ‘Frying Nemo’…
The Jetty | Southbank
A mainstay on the new Southbank strip, The Jetty is a consistent crowd pleaser, always managing to impress. If the new Spring menu tastes as good as it looks, diners are in for a treat.
My Pick: Pan fried barramundi, roast pumpkin, green beans and citrus beurre blanc.
Il Centro | Brisbane CBD
A Brisbane institution. Classic, refined and always delicious, Il Centro takes the guess-work out of eating out. Their new menu looks insanely delicious and seems just right for Brisbane in spring.
My Pick: Angel hair pasta with grilled Tiger prawns, orange, baby caper, and eschallot butter.
Pearl Café | Woolloongabba
Without a doubt one of our all-time, top-five favourites, Pearl can do no wrong. Their Spring menu (on tables today!) looks absolutely delightful, and I want to try everything on it. Bring it on.
My Pick: Roasted baby chicken, with spring vegetable farmers broth.
What have I missed? Don’t be shy, let us know!
