The verdict

Housed in a beautiful Victorian mansion on Williams Road in Prahran, Woodland House is the culinary collaboration between chefs Thomas Woods and Hayden McFarland. Arguably one of Melbourne's best restaurants, Woodland House has a huge focus on using local, seasonal and sustainable produce, making for a truly unique dining experience – quite often there are new dishes making an appearance each day!

The team have also done away with the traditional restaurant menu; instead Woodland House offers patrons incredible degustation and 5-course tasting menus (matched wines are optional…but we highly recommend it!) perfect for mid-week dining, private functions, romantic date nights and other special occasions.

There's also a Sunday lunch option, featuring a chefs selection set menu, where the hardest choice you'll face is whether you go for 4 or 6 courses. In addition to the exquisite food, Woodland House features one of the best wine lists in Melbourne with some impressive older vintages of Australian reds.
