8 Of The Best Swimsuits For This Summer

Some of you may not have started your summer countdown as yet (we know, where has the year gone?!) But for those of you already counting down, you’ll know that you can count the number of weeks until summer arrives on one hand. Cue the coconut oil and an Aperol Spritz!

Chances are, if you are one of our counter-downers, you have a drawer stashed full of swimsuits, but you firmly believe that girl can never have too many bikinis (and for the record, we concur!). If you’ve lost track of what month it is and haven’t invested in a new swimsuit since 2009, well that’s perfect too, because there’s no better time to get your swimsuit game in check than right now!

Here at The Urban List, we’re avid swimsuit lovers. Why? Because swimsuits go hand-in-hand with beachside cocktails, poolside side picnics, summer road trips and sun-kissed skin, and there’s really no reason not to love that little list.

Whether you’re into to prints, pop colours, one-pieces, two-pieces, tie-sides, bandeaus tops or bold silhouettes, there’s a shiny new swimsuit out there for everyone. We’ve picked our top eight swimsuits—just to make your summer countdown feel all the more official…

#1 The ultimate beach to bar one-piece

It’s almost harder for us to find a Zimmermann swimsuit don’t love rather than pick our favourite! This floral printed one-piece is the perfect swimsuit to see you through sun-drenched days on the sand to sipping on your favourite cocktail at sunset. Pair it with shorts for the beach or wear it underneath a white silk skirt or palazzo pants for the bar—it easily doubles as a bodysuit, which makes it all the more worth the price tag.

#2 The bikini of choice for Instagram it-girls

Haven’t heard of TRIANGL? Oh, they only have a measly 2.7 million Insta-followers. Their signature bikinis are all crafted from premium neoprene and realised in the brightest of summer shades. One of the best features is that you can also pick your top and bottom size, depending on how you like your bikini to fit. If their Instagram feed is anything to go by, a TRIANGL bikini is your one-way ticket to an envy-inducing summer… But you’ll need to purchase your own inflatable flamingo.

#3 The one that’ll give you the worst tan-lines (but will be worth it)

Tan with caution. The Ester one-piece by OYE blends mesh sheer panels with criss-cross Lycra which is a recipe for tan-line disaster… But the swimsuit highlights all your best features whilst creating a slimming illusion thanks the to carefully placed panels.

#7 The one that is actually functional

Hang on, you mean you’ll actually be swimming in your new swimsuit? Just kidding. But for those who take things a little more serious in the water (from surfing to water-skiing to paddle-boarding) you’ll need a swimsuit that’s both comfortable and supportive, and well, stays in its place. The Upside Printed Snapper Tank and Pant is just as cute as it is functional, promising to stay put in even the roughest of waves.

#8 The one in a colour you never knew you liked

Olive isn’t a shade that automatically springs to mind when we think summer. Steer clear of a new neon orange or predictable white bikini, because you’ll be pleasantly surprised with how many pieces you have in your wardrobe that this bikini matches with. This must-have olive hue pairs perfectly with all shades of grey, neutrals, denim, black, navy and even pink, and we’re certain you’ve got a great summer dress to wear atop this swimsuit.
