J&J Official 7-Minute Workout
If you don’t have the time or inclination for a sweaty morning run (post-work out hair is the worst), choose your favourite tunes, pump up the volume and download the J&J Official 7-Minute Workout. These bite-sized cardio workouts range in difficulty, from beginners to fitness junkies. Plus, you can share your workouts on Facebook and Twitter. Because if you don’t post about it, did it really happen?
Nike+ Run Club
Nothing like a good bit of competition to motivate a personal best or to inspire a jog around the block, and with the Nike+ Run Club you can now share your progress with an entire global community of runners just like you! We know, this one requires some genuine movement, but we promise you it'll be worth it. You can sync the app to your Apple playlist (Queen B where you at?), and you'll be able to track your improvement all with the support of your new global running crew.
Daily Ab Workout
If you like the thought of having a toned tummy but don’t have a clue what to do, give Daily Ab Workout a go. Each workout takes just 5-10 minutes and will tone and strengthen your core as if there were a trainer right next to you helping you count reps. Just hit the lounge room floor, prop your phone up to watch the video and get crunching.
The beauty of Moves is how little physical activity and effort it actually requires. Talk about genius. Using Moves is literally as simple as turning it on, taking your smartphone everywhere you go, and checking it at the end of the day—which of course you already do. Challenge accepted.
If your resolution was to take up yoga but you don’t know your downward facing dog from your child’s pose, it can be a bit hard to unleash your inner zen warrioer. Daily Yoga offers a personalised coach and plenty of poses to choose from plus meditation classes for people who want to de-stress and feel more focused. If you’re a lover of lists (obvs; look what you’re reading!) and already doing some kind of exercise, you’re going to love My Fitness Pal. The app will track your workouts and count the nutritional value of what you eat, so as long as your input (food/calories in) is less than your output (movement/calories burned), you’re winning. And it offers more than 350 exercise ideas!
This time it’s personal. Well, at least your work out will be because Sworkit lets you pick your poison (sadly, chocolate nor wine is on the list); from yoga, cardio, strength training or stretching, it’s a regular sporting smorgasbord. No equipment is needed and there’s video demonstrations for us less, ahem, nimble participants. Plus you can sync your workouts directly to Health, Google Fit and MyFitnessPal.
