One of the many things COVID-19 has taught us is that we’re suckers for a board game or puzzle with mates. Basically anything that keeps our hands occupied while our latest Netflix binge plays in the background is a winner for us.
Well, whip out your credit card because LEGO—your childhood fave—has just dropped a new adult’s range so you no longer need to steal your old set from your nieces and nephews (guilty).
The LEGO sets offer us big kids a new creative experience and a lil’ “me time” away from the screen by transforming a blank canvas (or in this case, small interlinking base plates) into a work of LEGO art. The sets actually come with a hanging element to make them easy to display around the house, so good luck negotiating that with your SO or roomie.
There are four sets on offer: Andy Warhol’s famous bright pink screen print of Marilyn Monroe from 1967 (or you can reimagine it in three different colours); The Beatles, featuring four separate portraits of John, Sir Paul, George and Sir Ringo; Marvel Studios Iron Man and last but not least, Star Wars The Sith where you can celebrate iconic villains from a galaxy far, far away. The hard part will be choosing between Darth Vader, Darth Maul and Kylo Ren. Or treat yourself and by them all.
Even better, they all come with accompanying soundtracks featuring music and exclusive interviews so you can channel your inner Tony Stark while you work. And with all of the sets containing around 2,000 to 4,000 pieces—you will be working.
The LEGO Marvel Studios Iron Man set will be available exclusively for two months from LEGO stores and LEGO.com from 1 August. All other three sets will be available from department stores, specialty toy stores and select online outlets from 1 August 2020.
These sets will go fast, so you head here to secure yours.
