Art Fiends Listen Up! A Massive Marcel Duchamp Exhibition Is On Its Way

By Simone Jovel
28th Feb 2018

Anyone who calls themselves a fan of Marcel Duchamp will know this is epic news—the biggest exhibition of his works is headed to Australia, Sydney to be exact.

This is the biggest collection of Duchamp wizardry to hit our fair shores, coinciding with 50 years since his death, and bringing some of his most famous pieces down under for the very first time. Art fiends will be able to peruse 150 of his best works and see first-hand why he is credited as a serious source of inspo during his time.

Expect notable works such as 1914’s Chocolate Grinder (No. 2), and the work which catapulted Duchamp to fame, Nude Descending a Staircase (No. 2), all courtesy of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This showing comes off the back of a wider tour of the region, with his works exhibiting in both Tokyo and Korea before touching down in Sydney.
