We are gathered here today to unite mythical creatures and chilled coffee beverages in holy blasphemy, because Australia is the land of the free, and also cruffins and sushi donuts, which says enough really.
This week in 'Cooked It' we’ve broken down the bev that broke the internet this month and put together a recipe us Ozzies can make at home in our own kitchens (if there is literally nothing else you can think of to do).
Here’s how to do it.
Ingredients
Blue Syrup
Frappuccino
Topping
Method
Take a moment to reflect on your life and the choices you’ve made. Is this really where you want to be? Making a Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino in your kitchen? Maybe you could watch a powerful documentary about the degrading portrayal of women in mainstream media? Or go for a run? No? Ok.
Pop to the shops and pick up everything you need. Citric acid is a real thing you can get in a supermarket, it’ll be with the bi-carb soda and baking powder.
Come home and watch the new Orange Is The New Black trailer—sh*t’s gonna get real on June 9. Now, let’s get down to business (to defeat the Huns). Pop the blue cordial and melted white choccie in a bowl and whisk until it’s all combined.
If it sets while you’re finishing the recipe/are distracted by the tellie, add one drop of water at a time until it’s back to the desired consistency.
Pop your ice, milk, vanilla ice cream, raspberry cordial and citric acid through a blender until smooth. If the mixture isn’t pink enough, add more pink cordial (add it anyway).
Pour half of the frappuccino mix into whatever drinking implement you’ve decided to use and then drizzle the blue syrup around the inside of the cup so it drips down up a bit, giving it a ~kewl~ aesthetic.
Pour the remaining frappuccino mix in and then top with whipped cream and sprinkles. Grab a snap of your ‘lit’ creation and throw it on Instagram with the caption #IsoldmysoultoStarbucks.
