After the raging success of the delicious lobster and champagne pop-up earlier this year, we’ve just received word that yet another Sydney-born fave is heading to the Gold Coast for a short time only. Ten days during the Commonwealth Games, to be precise!
Some foodie fanatics have likened Australia’s Down N’ Out burgers to America’s wildly popular In-N-Out franchise, but you don’t need to tell us twice. We know a good burger when we wrap our lips around one and these guys are the real deal, having managed to amass a loyal following down south in an uber competitive burger lovin’ city.
Popping up in Broadbeach, a condensed menu of top sellers is planned for speedy service. We anticipate the classic single of Wagyu beef, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and DNO spread on their signature bun. Fingers are also crossed for a vego option and some ridiculous add-ons (we’re looking at you deep fried cheese patty and that signature DEATH sauce, made from the world’s hottest chillies). As far as sides are concerned, we’re hoping for deliciously generous servings of tiger fries, onion rings and jalapeno poppers all ‘round.
Thirsty? Wash it all down with boozy brews from Mountain Goat, plus Somersby Cider and chilled vino options, if you fancy a side of class with your burgs.
Broadbeach will be absolutely pumping during the Games, with the Main Stage and live entertainment right at their front door. So be sure to beeline to the Down N’ Out burger pop-up when joining the festivities. You’ll find ‘em in the same location as the recent lobster pop-up (corner of Surfer Parade and Queensland Avenue) and we’ll leave their trading hours below so you know when to show up hungry.
