Calling All Movie Buffs, The Cinemas Are Finally Re-Opening

a neon sign reading popcorn factory hangs on the front of a brick building.

While we can’t get enough of our Netflix and Stan binges, there is something incredibly comforting and nostalgic about catching a flick at the cinemas and tucking into overpriced Maltesers, buttery popcorn and the classic choc top.
Which is why we’re pretty stoked to share the news that Event Cinemas are finally re-opening their doors after several months of lockdown due to COVID-19.
In line with the easing of government restrictions across the country, Event Cinemas—the one that you’ll find at your local Westfield or shopping centre—is welcoming back movie lovers with  half-price tickets for Cinebuzz members across all sessions including Gold Class, 4DX and V-Max. FYI, Cinebuzz is free to join too.
Movie buffs can expect a great lineup of movies between now and the end of the year, including the highly-anticipated Mulan on 23 July and Tenet on 30 July.
There’s also Babyteeth (July), High Note (August), Slim & I (August), Bill and Ted 3: Face the Music (August) as well as Wonder Woman 1984, Black Widow, No Time to Die, Death on the Nile, Westside Story and Peter Rabbit 2.
In addition, the cinemas will be showing popular recently released movies like Bad Boys for Life, Joker, Knives Out, Invisible Man and Sonic the Hedgehog and retro content on Superhero Sundays and Friday Fright Nights.
For those worried about social distancing, Event have introduced Intelligent Social Distanced Ticket Bookings as an alternative to checker-board seating currently being used as the industry standard, so you can still sit with your mates or family safely.
Openings across Australia will be staggered through July, so check their website out to see if your local is back in action.
