Winter is officially here, and boy, are we thankful. Cold, frosty mornings, hot chocolates and marshmallows…winter is seriously our favourite. It’s also the perfect time to get out and explore Queensland’s strikingly beautiful scenery now that it’s a) not scorching hot, and b) the perfect camping weather. There is one tiny hitch, though—we’re not exactly the camping kind…

But, what if we told you we’d found a glamping spot nestled amongst pristine natural beauty, accessible only by a privately lead hike? We’re pretty sure you’d say something like “holy moly, get me there now!”, right? Enter: The Scenic Rim Trail by Spicers—the glamping destination that is giving us some very real adventure feels.

The Scenic Rim Trail makes up a whole heap of seriously stunning, multi-day walks operated by Spicers Retreats as part of the Great Walks Of Australia collective. These incredible walks range from two or four day trail options and are graded from moderate to hard. The walks give you a never-before-seen look at our gorgeous backyard, teach you about the history of the region and give you the skinny on native flora and fauna. The hike makes its way through the World Heritage Listed Gondwana Rainforest which is not only beautiful but the most extensive area of subtropical rainforest in the world! Who better to experience the hike with the guides who know literally everything there is to know about the area?

But, that’s not even the best part. Oh no, we’ve seriously saved the best for last.

Each evening your walk will see you calling some seriously luxe accommodation home. We’re talking polished timber floors and king sized beds—no need to pack that sleeping bag, folks. The permanent safari style tents are nice and all (we’re being modest here—they’re incredibly luxe, and are probably nicer than our house, so…), but the highlight has got to be the fact that each night an onsite chef will prepare delicious, wholesome, and locally sourced meals just for you.

The final night of each hike is pretty special, too. Each walk ends with a complete sensory overload at Spicers Peak Lodge with a five-course degustation and paired wines.

And all under two hours from Brisbane. See you there, then?
