It’s been three long years since Kid Cudi graced our playlists with a fresh album and thankfully the wait is now over… sort of.

The Grammy-winning artist just announced Entergalatic, his first solo album since 2016’s Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’, is in the pipeline but even better, it will soundtrack a new adult animated series coming to Netflix.

According to the streaming service, the series, “Follows a young man on his journey to discover love.”

Cudi added on Twitter, “Entergalactic will be something you’ve never experienced. I promise it’ll be a fun ride. Lot of good friends involved. Great songs too! The cast is coming together. I know a year from now seems like forever, but it’ll be here before u know it!” The series will be executive produced by Kenya Barris (Black-ish and Girl’s Trip), while Cudi will also write, star, and co-produce, so safe to say we’re in for a truly epic production.

2019 marks a big year for the performer, who is rumoured to have scored a significant role in Bill & Ted: Face the Music, and will officially be joining Suspiria director Luca Guadagnino‘s upcoming HBO series We Are Who We Are.

Details on the exact release date for both the album and Netflix series are still thin on the ground but if Cudi’s promise is anything to go by, we’ll have him back on our screens and airwaves within the year.
