Fire Up Your Wishlist, A New Shopping App That Ups The Ante On AfterPay Just Dropped

In great news for your Net-A-Porter wishlist, but probably not so great for your bank balance and your holiday savings—Australia has just copped a brand new pay-later style shopping app.

Called Klarna, this app’s lay-buy wizardry allows you to shop literally everywhere online—not just from a library of partner retailers. Which means, yep, anything from Gucci to Kmart, Apple, Etsy, JB HiFi, Nike, Coles, Bed Bath N’ Table—whatever your jam, whenever you want.

As for how it works, if you’re over 18 with a clean credit history at the time of purchase, you’ll be all set to shop your favourite brands within the Klarna app. When you’re ready to buy, Klarna creates a single-use “ghost” credit card, which auto-fills its details when you’re ready to click buy.

Like AfterPay, payments are split into four even payments without interest or fees added on top (provided you pay those instalments on time, of course).

Within the app too, you can create wishlists, set up notifications for price drops and get access to app-exclusive discounts and deals. And, so you don’t overdo it, all payments and purchases are managed within the app so you’re able to manage your spending.
