Well, guess what? Museum of the Moon is making that trip to space seem a lot closer than you would think...
This incredible art installation is about to embark on a world tour, and wouldn't you know, it's coming to Australia! Made famous by the gigantic, seven metre-wide moon suspended in mid air that's at the core of the exhibition, every little detail from craters to surface shadows of our moon will be on show at this jaw-dropping show. It's time to channel your inner astronaut and get amongst the touring artwork by UK artist, Luke Jerram.
Paired with this mind-boggling display of levitating space rock will be a rocking soundtrack, composed by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award-winning composer, Dan Jones. Let's just say his music will make the astronomic experience even more surreal—if you can believe it. The idea is to find a little spot on the floor under the moon and gaze at her girth and beauty...
Museum of the Moon will be hitting Scienceworks in Melbourne from December 1 2018 to April 28 2019. It's no orbit in outer space, but it is one small step for man... etc.
