If you, like everyone else, have fallen into the insanely crazy web that is Netflix’s latest docu-series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, then we have some very good news—there’s a spin-off series in the works.
It turns out that Netflix wasn’t the first entertainment giant to pick up the weird and wonderful story of Joe Exotic, it was originally a six-episode podcast from the crew at Wondery—they’re also behind Dirty John.
Even better, the hilarious Kate McKinnon (and low-key our fave SNL star) has signed up to star in and executive produce the limited series based on the podcast. And yes, you’ll be stoked to know she is absolutely playing Big Cat Rescue CEO Carole Baskin. The thought of McKinnon saying, “Hey all you cool cats and kittens” is just the good news we needed at a time like this.
The new series, much like Netflix’s offering, will follow the colourful life of Baskin—let’s not forget many believe she was responsible for the disappearance of her late, millionaire husband.
The series isn’t yet tied to a network or streaming service so there’s no details on a release date yet, so we’re going to busy our time thinking which Hollywood star could step into the jewel-encrusted cowboy boots of Joe Exotic…
