What makes a dreamy tropical holiday 1000 times better? Puppies of course.

If winter has you feeling down, you’ll want to book in your annual leave, grab your togs and make a beeline for Puri Garden Hotel in Ubud.

As well as spending your days sunbathing, having massages and doing yoga, you can also cuddle favourite four-legged friends poolside, with the hotel offering guests free "puppy therapy" sessions twice a week.

The sweet pups are brought in by the Bali Dog Association, a not for profit organisation that works tirelessly to end the suffering of street dogs in the area.

From 1.30pm to 3.30pm every Tuesday and Thursday, the charity sets up a small enclosed area by the pool where guests can sit and play with the rescue puppies. Studies show that interactions with animals can decrease stress in humans, so you’ll officially reach peak zen at this little slice of paradise. Even better? You’ll be making these homeless pup’s day with your cuddles and love.

Post pup session you can partake in a yoga sesh, have a cocktail by the pool and just generally soak up all the feel-good vibes that come from a holiday in Bali.

That’s got to be enough to warm the cockles of any heart this winter!
