This month we're raising awareness about simple changes you can make in your life to live more sustainably. Find out how you can do your bit here.
The clever kids over at Yoga Design Lab have created a super cool collection of yoga mats made from recycled plastic bottle microfibers and natural tree rubber.
Loved by the likes of Harpers Bazaar and Vogue, the Combo is part mat, part towel and completely non-toxic. The top layer is a soft and absorbent sueded microfiber (made from the bottles) and it’s bonded to biodegradable natural tree rubber, so you no longer need to bring a mat and towel to class.
There are three different thicknesses to choose from; the Studio for your daily sessions, the Commuter for when you’re heading to a quick class on your lunch break and the Travel for when you’re jetting off on holidays and want to keep your practice up.
Designed and made in Bali through a careful process that includes sterilising, crushing, heating, spooling and crimping, the mats were the brainchild of Chad Turner, a Canadian yogi and surf fanatic who saw a gap in the market for bio-renewable yoga gear.
As well as the mats, the Yoga Design Lab online shop stocks towels, yoga wheels, bags and props all made with a focus on sustainability. Now that’s sure to make your next set of sun salutations feel extra blissful.
