Anyone who loves a good binge will get why this is big news. Alongside Facebook Watch, Youtube Premium and IGTV, Snapchat has also jumped on the smartphone streaming shenanigans with its own sling of scripted shows.

Meet Snap Originals. The short-form mobile TV shows set in vertical format with split screens and quick cuts for ultimate smartphone viewing (episodes hang around the five-minute mark because you know, time is of the essence).

And what to expect in terms of actual content? Well, upcoming Snap Originals have been produced by the Duplass Brothers (from the Netflix doco Wild Wild Country), Mark Boal (Zero Dark Thirty and The Hurt Locker) and include writers from shows like Riverdale so there’s no doubt about the binge-worthiness of these gems.

Snapchat has already dropped three shows on its platform, and they are ready for the taking including the mystery thriller and female-led cast, Class of Lies, about two girls solving crime with their STEM skills; a drama-comedy called Co-Ed which contains an LGBTQ-strong talent pool and a docu-series from the makers of Keeping Up With The Kardashians called Endless Summer.

A bunch of other originals are also in the pipeline including animated series, romance and young adult dramas so you’ll want to watch this space for more.

And here's how to recover how to recover after watching the Dirty John trailer.
