Blessed day, the official trailer for season three of the award-winning Handmaid's Tale is here and there goes 2019.

The new season of the dystopian drama will contain 13-episodes with episodes being accelerated from the US to SBS On Demand and set to land (fittingly) on Thursday 6 June AEST. You'll want to mark that one down in the diary.

The powerful new trailer for season three of The Handmaid's Tale (which is now well past the confines of Margaret Atwood's original novel) oozes everything around forming allies, survival and a looming revolution. Scope the official trailer below:

The teaser before this for the much-anticipated third season previewed at the Super Bowl in February this year and broke one big message: Wake up America.

The sneak peek was a nod in the direction of Ronald Reagan’s 1984 election commercial — Morning In America (one of the most prolific political campaigns of that era). A voiceover dictated a futuristic world where more women are at work than ever before and “dozens” of children are yet to be born. However, in the new trailer for The Handmaid's Tale, the new message is: Blessed be the fight.

If you're a sucker for The Handmaid's, good news, its sequel now has a release date.
