Space is cool. Our adventures into the great, inky mysterious expanse up there are without doubt some of history’s most electrifying—whether it’s Elon Musk’s cherry red roadster rocketing over to Mars, Carl Sagan’s Spaceship of the Imagination, or the Voyager Probes carrying the soulful sounds of planet Earth far beyond the rim of the solar system and out into the vast unknown.
Well, 2019 marks the 60th anniversary of the moon landing and Vans have teamed up with NASA to mark the occasion. Yep, get ready to moon walk because the astro-inspired Vans Space Voyager Collection drops tomorrow.
The collection takes its cues from 60s-era space suits and space boots and includes eight different versions of Vans Sk8-Hi and Old Skool sneakers.
There are all sorts of cosmic features: exposed foam, NASA Meatball insignia, Velcro, and that iconic space suit ‘Firecracker’ orange. The white and black Sk8-His feature stitching at the heel quoting Neil Armstrong’s infamous words: “The eagle has landed.”
Coolest part? There’s more to come. A space jacket, duffle bag, tees, more sneakers and a backpack are due to drop soon too.
For now though, you can cop the first drop from the Vans Space Voyager collection from November 2 at HYPE DC, Loaded, Area 51 and Vans stockists.
Here are all the other sneakers you need to know about in November.
