If you’re anything like us, you live for travel. So, trust us when we say we absolutely feel your pain at having to cancel those bucket list holidays you’ve been saving for. But as we start to come out the other side, and restrictions begin to lift, we can’t help but start getting excited at the chance to travel again.

Because we’re massive wanderlust seekers, we decided to check in with some of Australia’s creatives to see where they want head for the ultimate post-corona vacay.

This week, we caught up with Aussie actress and model Ellie Gonsalves, ahead of the launch of her latest show, Filthy Rich & Homeless which airs on SBS tonight, to find out where she’s dreaming of heading after lockdown—get the notebook out, because you’re going to want to recreate her exact itinerary.

What’s the first country you’re going to visit when travel bans are lifted?

United Arab Emirates.

Which city are you going to first?

Back to Dubai!

Ellie leans into give a camel a kiss in the UAE desert.

Why is it on your travel hit list?

I’ve been before, and it was the most amazing experience. I was there to celebrate my birthday and 10-year anniversary with my partner Ross. We had the best memories there so we can’t wait to go back.

What’s on your holiday agenda?

Skydiving, jet skiing, eating, drinking, scuba diving and dune bugging! I cannot emphasize the eating part enough...

Speaking of Our other favourite topic—food, what are the dishes you can’t wait to devour?

I was lucky enough to experience a lot of authentic foods to the UAE, but I can’t wait to go back and just eat heaps of hummus! The food in Dubai can also be very multicultural.

Are there any restaurants in particular that you’re dying to check out?

I’d love to have dinner at Level 42, it’s on the 42nd floor of the Shangri-La Hotel. There’s an exclusive dining terrace that’s tucked away from the rest of the hotel where you can have a candlelit five course dinner with flowers, music and your own personal chef.

Sounds dreamy, Where do you want to head for a post-meal drink?

Ossiano at the Atlantis Hotel, it’s one of the most popular romantic underwater restaurants in the world with the most amazing cocktails

What are the three things you’ll absolutely be packing for this trip?

A killer wardrobe, my partner Ross and sunscreen
