your guide to what's happening in auckland this weekend

As the weather starts to cool down here in the City of Sails, the events start to heat up. This weekend, there’s a whisky festival, Blue Man Group and Evita performances and an art fair. If you’re into your arts and culture, then this weekend will be non-stop fun for you.

All Weekend

Auckland Art Fair | The Cloud

The Auckland Art Fair returns after a three-year hiatus from our glorious city. It showcases galleries from around the world including New Zealand, Australia, Latin America and the Pacific Islands. If art isn’t quite your thing, then don’t worry, there’s something for you foodies out there too. Peter Gordon, chef at one of our faves The Sugar Club will be whipping up some culinary offerings at the Fair, including a pop-up restaurant.

Blue Man Group| The Civic

In New Zealand for the first time, The Blue Man Group are bringing their show to The Civic this weekend. Find out just how much fun three guys can have with 30 litres of paint and 55 mashed-up bananas in the space of an hour and a half. This is a show that allows you to reconnect with your inner child and re-experience the mischievousness that goes along with it.

Evita |The Bruce Mason Centre

Evita tells the story of Eva Peron, wife of a former Argentinean dictator Juan Peron. Chronicling her life with Latin, pop and jazz influences, Evita tells the tale of the ‘spiritual leader of the nation’ from her humble beginnings right through to the extraordinary wealth, power and status she had.
