Emerging Pixels: Kauhanga | Aotea Centre
We can’t help but love the work of emerging young artists, and this weekend Digital Art Live presents: Emberging Pixels at the Aotea Centre, six days a week. There will be three fabulous exhibitions, including Kauhanga, Matter and Swirly, so make sure you head along and support our young artists.
Fire on the River | Various Theatres
The Great Fire of London has its 350th anniversary this year, and, in acknowledgement of the horror that happened during the four days it raged across London. Destroying everything in its path, its memory has never faded. Fire on the River is a musical written and composed by Graeme John Webber and this weekend is performed at The Playhouse Theatre.
Billy Elliot | ASB Waterfront Theatre
Film sensation Billy Elliot his the stage this month with what promises to be an epic performance by The Auckland Theatre Company. It tells the story of 11-year-old Billy who discovers his passion for ballet—something his macho father and brother are not impressed with. Set in 1984, against a miners’ strike, expect to lots of laughter and a whole lotta inspiration.
Food Meets Art | Parnell
Food lovers will need to put their stretchy pants on and head to Parnell this week because the trendy ‘burb is presenting Food Meets Art. Local restaurants are teaming up with art galleries to host new menus, wine tastings, cooking classes and inspiring artistic displays. Donne that beret and take a pic in front of the very tall Eiffel Tower in Heard Park…post on Insta and no one will know you didn’t actually holiday in France.

New Zealands Photography Exhibition | Karanga Plaza
If photos inspire you, then head along to the country’s largest photography competition at Karanga Plaza this weekend. The New Zealand Geographic Photographer of the Year showcases the 47 of the best entries carefully selected by the judges. You’ll get to see Aotearoa at it’s finest through the lenses of some seriously talented photographers.
Mockingbird | Basement Theatre
A serious subject—post-natal depression—hits the Basement Theatre this weekend, Mockingbird. Using humour, mask and music, it is based on the real-life experiences of Lisa Brickell. Spanning different generations, it promises to give you lots to think about.

This feast, is part of SKYCITY’S Dining for a Difference, where the dinners are fundraising for Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand.
