That Bloody Woman | SKYCITY Theatre
Kate Sheppard’s successful campaign to win the vote for women wasn’t exactly a walk in the park, but she did it. Held at SKYCITY Theatre, That Bloody Woman retells Kate’s battle for equality as takes on political patriarch Richard Seddon. The kick-ass punk rock opera is full of insight, intelligence infectious tunes. Theatre-goers will also be able to pick up a post or pre-show burger and beer special from Andy’s Burgers. Women’s rights and burgers, what’s not to love?!
Mana Wahine | Q Theatre
Contemporary dance performance Mana Wahine returns to Q Theatre this weekend. The all-female work created by Okareka Dance Company draws strength from traditional Maori culture to illustrate a performance of dance, theatre and film. The piece is inspired by the true story of Te Aokapurangi, a young maiden from Mokoia Island, who saved her people from slaughter—pretty cool woman if you ask us! The intense, powerful show will have you on the edge of your seat.

Vodafone Pacific Music Awards | Sir Woolf Fisher Arena Vodafone Events Centre
Now in its 12th year, the Vodafone Pacific Music Awards celebrate all things good in Pacific music. The awards will showcase the 2016 finalists as well as performances from both emerging and established Pacific artists. There are 18 finalists in the running for awards including Annie Grace, Te Vaka, Vince Harder and Sol3 Mio. New Zealand’s biggest night of Pacific music is not to be missed! Classic Comedy All Stars | The Classic Comedy Club
The work week got you down? Head to The Classic Comedy Club on Friday night for some good ol’ laughter therapy. The Comedy Allstars event showcases an array of comedians including Guy Williams, John Carr, Paul Douglas and Pax Assadi. Brace yourself for two hours of lol-worthy entertainment.
Donnie Darko 15th Anniversary Screening | Academy Cinemas
It’s been 15 years since the release of Donnie Darko—say whaaa? To celebrate, Academy Cinemas are having a one-off screening of the cult-favourite. All Blacks vs Wales | Eden Park
Don your black and make your way to Eden Park as the boys are back in town. As part of the 2016 Steinlager Series, the All Blacks are playing their first international game of the year against Wales. Hopewalk | Mission Bay
Hopewalk is a national event that aims to bring greater awareness around suicide and promote the awesome suicide prevention agencies here in New Zealand. Auckland Central’s Hopewalk will be meeting at Goldie Street in St Heliers before walking 5km to Mission and onto Okahu Bay. Dress in yellow and join the team because together we are stronger!

There are four sessions throughout the day with each including a rustic two-course lunch at Bracu.
