Alright Auckland, you have our attention. With not one, but two festivals on offer and an array of concerts and experiences to boot, it’s no surprise that we’re all ears this weekend, and you will be too.

With no need to feel down in the dumps that both sunshine-filled, long weekends are now over *sob, instead get stuck into this list of 14 of the best things to do this weekend in Auckland to kick those long-weekend blues to the curb!

Auckland Lantern Festival | Auckland Domain

Prepare to be dazzled and hypnotised at this year’s Auckland Lantern Festival, as the Year of the Rooster well and truly kicks off. With more than 800 homemade and illuminated lanterns on display, of all shapes and sizes, your jaw will no doubt be dropped the entire time. Don’t forget about the demos, food stalls and performances either, as this weekend is expected to be one hell of a good one!

Night Noodle Market | Auckland Domain

Hold on to your hats—we’re about to blow you away! That’s right, people, they are back and coming to an Auckland Domain near you! New Lynn Night Market Opening Night | New Lynn

The New Lynn Night Market is back! Head along to the re-opening night this Thursday to sample all sort of delish food including dumplings, noodles, sweet treats and more. Local entertainer Jarred Tito will be belting out some Elvis hits and you’ll have a chance to pick up arts and crafts from all corners of the world. The market kicks off at 5.30pm.

Dreams - The Fleetwood Mac Experience | Remuera

They have rocked our socks for nearly 50 whole years, are behind some of the most iconic and utterly inspiring song lyrics of all time and still, to this day, continue to put on one heck of a show. It can only be Fleetwood Mac, of course! It’s not everyday that the band visit the shores of NZ, but never fear, as Dreams - The Fleetwood Mac Experience are New Zealand’s answer to the likes of Stevie and Mick. Playing a three-hour show, with all of the classic hits, get ready for a whole lotta singing and dancing, people!

Hot Brown Honey Bloc Party Summer In The Square | Auckland CBD

Not only will these badass ladies be taking the ASB Theatre by storm, but they will also be serving up a feast of dance, comedy and hip-hop at Summer in the Square, along with their very own anti-bullying, anti-violence and anti-racism project. Join the Honey’s in creating your own star that will be a part of a 1-million strong display at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. How cool does that sound?!

Northwest, Wine, Beer & Food Festival | Waimauku

Giving our summer a helping hand is the North West, Wine, Beer & Food Festival. This one-day boutique festival will see the likes of Trinity Roots, Nomad and Dave Dobbyn take to the stage as you enjoy offerings from some of Auckland’s best eateries and wineries. For a day in the sun (fingers crossed!) and ample entertainment and refreshments, you won’t wanna be anywhere else, trust us!

The Brothers Beer Session Beer Challenge | Mt Eden

Mark de Clive-Lowe, Live in the Lane of PSC | Ponsonby

As part of Ponsonby Social Club’s Live in the Lane Sunday afternoon series, Mark de Clive-Lowe is returning to the motherland to rip it up at this iconic Ponsonby bar. Expect Mark’s eclectic, international flavours to resonate throughout PSC’s lane and turn it into one heck of a Sunday sesh. He’ll be juggling piano, synths, live sampling and beat making as he makes some of the best beats you’ll hear all week. The gig kicks off at 4pm, so pop by early for a pre-drink or five.
