Oh Auckland, you’re a gift that just keeps on giving, aren’t you? Our city is full to the brim with top-notch bars and eateries perfect for kicking back and unwinding, while we brace ourselves for the week ahead. Round up your #squad and head on over to these hot spots this weekend for some seriously mean feeds.

KK Malaysian

Epsom

Asian cuisine fans, rejoice! KK Malaysian is one of the most underrated eateries in Auckland and guaranteed to be your new fave spot for some hearty and tasty Asian nosh. The portions are generous, the flavours are plentiful, the service is fantastic—what’s not to love?! Arrive in your eating pants and prepare to devour their Malaysian-style deep-fried tofu, Singapore vermicelli and their cutesy-named mummy chicken for a taste safari. The dishes here are perfect for sharing but we won’t judge you if you shoo away any pesky forks coming to steal a bite of your food.

Nomad

Point Chev

Tucked away in the main shops of little old Point Chev hides the gastro gem that is Nomad. Its two levels are decked out with rustic yet modern décor and it just oozes the perfect mix of sophisticated and chill vibes. It’s an ideal spot to unwind with your clique over a shared pizza and a glass or two of sav. The menu here is full of sharing options and we just can’t get enough of their quattro formagi or La Bella Italia pizzas. Make sure to pop by on a Sunday arvo—you’ll be treated to some sick beats from 2pm while you attempt to smash open the top of your turkish delight crème brulée.

Regatta Bar & Eatery

Takapuna

If you’re out to relax in style, Regatta is where you need to be. From its sea view location and nautical décor, to its top-notch food and bevvy menu, this North Shore hot spot has got everything going for it. Even if you live a whole hour and a half away, it would be pretty easy for it to become your local weekend lunch spot. Wether you’re after fresh market fish, a cheeky bar bite or something grilled to perfection, this place has got you officially covered.

Chuffed

Auckland City

Eggs bene cravings on a Sunday morning are no light matter. Thankfully for us, the team at Chuffed café have our brunching and lunching needs covered with their all-day menu. They’re all about fresh produce and quality meals so whether you go for their crumpets, eggs, salads or one of their seriously good sammies, you so won’t be disappointed. Same goes for their java. They sure know how to work that espresso machine! Don’t leave without a visit to the counter to take home a slice (or five) of their homemade fudge—we pinkie-promise you wont regret it.

Café Hanoi

Britomart

Britomart’s very own slice of Vietnam will never let you down. A bite and a tipple at this central eatery should be way up there on your weekend to-do list. Forget the housework and soccer matches in the rain and wander over to Café Hanoi and indulge in some of the most fresh, fun and flavoursome dishes about town. Sink your teeth into their traditional crispy pancake filled with nothing else than mouth-watering pork belly and shrimp or try the stir-fried roast duck in sweet and sour sauce. Of course, no trip here is complete without a cocktail or two! Which one you ask? They’re all winners in our eyes and choosing one to come out on top is too big of an ask.
