And just like that, our blissful Sunday arvos somehow morphed into yet another Monday morning. Instead of scratching your head and wondering how the heck this happened, we vote you get out there and make the most of the week ahead because boy oh boy are there some crazy cool things going on.

We’ve searched far and high and are bringing you the crème-de-la-crème of things to do in the awesome city that is Auckland. There's everything to keep you your creative juices flowing this week, from a (literally) magical cake decorating class to a boozy doodle-fest, as well as a Whiskey tasting for you liquor lovers out there. We've also scouted out a festival with the BEST line up of food you'll wanna stuff your face with, as well as the coolest early morning exercise activity (that you'll actually want to do) to burn it all off!

Make Some Magic

Oh the mystical, magical unicorn. We dream of them, wish for them—and now we can even eat them! Take a magical journey up north this Monday to Coast Cakes, where you can learn how to whip up the most whimsical foodie creation of them all—the unicorn cake. From it’s glittering horn, right through the rainbow mane, to you’ll be learning how to put together your very own edible unicorn friend. Brace yourself for a magical glitter overload.

Become A Whiskey Connoisseur 

Whiskey lovers, listen up! Ponsonby’s top whiskey joint —The (aptly named) Whiskey, is hosting a whole evening dedicated to their namesake drink, and you’re not gonna to want to miss it. At their Tullibardine Masterclass, you’ll be treated to a line up of four stellar whiskeys as well as a mini buffet to help soak all that juice up. There’s also going to be specialist guest speaker on standby to give you the inside intel on the bevvies to so you can become a true Whiskey connoisseur.

Wake And Shake

Some mornings you need a little bit more than your usual triple-shot latte to get you through the day in one piece—we feel you on that. Hold the coffee, put down your energy drinks and don’t bother boiling the kettle for tea, because this Wednesday you’ll be getting your (all natural) buzz at a morning rave! That’s right, our friends at Morning People are bringing the party back for another AM sweat sesh, this time with legendary Greg Churchill spinning on the decks. A humble $15 will get you entry to this endorphin-filled extravaganza as well as unlimited (free!) coffee, fruit and juices for the ultimate start to your day.

Dreaming of creating art that would give Da Vinci a run for his money but when actually it comes to putting pen to paper, you’ve only mastered the art of a stick man? Then Newmarket’s The Lumsden Freehouse’s Drink & Draw is the event for you! Sip and sketch your way to artistic perfection under the guidance of a renowned artist, and of course — the boozy brews. No more stick figures for you, by the time you’re through here you’ll be churning out Picasso-level masterpeices.

Treat Yo'self

This Thursday, West is most definitely best. The Urban Street Fest is back for another round, and this time it’s gracing West Auckland with a line-up of amazeballs food stalls. We don’t say that lightly, y’know—with vendors selling yummies like loaded crumpets, stuffed baos, freshly prepped pasta and organic gelato, you could say that that’s even a bit of an understatement. PS, don’t worry about Auckland’s unpredictable rain getting in the way of you and your five-spiced-pork-belly bao—the event is 100% indoors (and free)!
