Some heroes wear capes, but the real ones make sandwiches. Eden Terrace is one lucky ‘burb and now home to the most super sandwich stop in town, Hero Sandwich House.

A small but mighty space found on New North Rd, this gem is every bit as tasty as it looks. Set up by dynamic duo Huri Neill and Matthew Stewart, the space features a slick bright fit-out, decked in local art fittings. Supporting their local creative community you’ll often find the artistic displays changing to showcase different emerging talent. Pair that with some choice sandwiches and we reckon it’s a winner!

“We’re all about chill vibes,” say Huri. “Keeping it simple, just making good sandwiches and showing off local talent.”

Traumatised from the terror of lacklustre sandwiches or last night’s lame leftovers? Our pals down at Hero are here to save the day. With a super affectionately named menu you’ll find yourself both surprised at the variety and delighted in the quality. You won’t want to miss Huri's top pick—the Walters. Featuring tuna, sweet pickle relish and cos lettuce, it’s sure to go down a treat on your next lunch break. Tuna not to your taste? Give The Ralph a try. Made with gochujang chicken, pickled ginger,  cucumber raita, red cabbage and jalapeño, he’ll definitely put a spring in your step.

Feeling a little bit cheeky? The Dick never disappoints, starring pork larb, pickled cabbage, peanuts, sprouts and crowd favourite Siracha mayo. We guarantee it’ll leave you feeling satisfied. Of course, sometimes it’s the most understated that turn out to be the true saviour of the day—The Don is a classic grilled cheese with truffle—it’s the quick fix for those who prefer to stick to the trusted toastie.

Not only do they save our bellies for lunch, there’s even something to cure the villainous hangover. The good ole’ reliable Barry will do the trick. Filled with scrambled egg, bacon, cheddar, and basil mayo all on a mighty brioche bun, you’ll be feeling ‘right in no time. They even brew Supreme coffee some of the best java in all the land, is there anything they can’t do?

Not a caffeine fiend? Not to worry—they even have a full selection of scrumptious drinks with purpose, Greenleaf Organics juices available for purchase.

So, the next time you’re feeling famished, be sure to visit your friendly neighbourhood eatery and pay Hero Sandwich House a visit.
