Hold your s***, guys. Auckland is getting a beer, chicken and doughnut pop-up shop! To say we’re excited is one hell of an understatement, because this may just be the news of the flippin’ year.
Remember back in 2015 when Judge Bao—the masters of Chinese street food—teamed up with our friends at the deliciously scrumptious Pie Piper, otherwise known as the masterminds behind Doornuts? They took over Coco’s Cantina for a few weeks and people went cray cray for it.
Well, two years have passed and they’ve decided to bring the excitement back into our lives. To celebrate their ever-growing friendship, Judge Bao and The Pie Piper are hosting a reunion pop-up they like to call “Beer, Chicken and Donuts”, or BCD for short. Setting up shop at The Pie Piper’s HQ on K’ Road for ol’ times sake, it’s gonna be nothing but good times and finger-lickin’ food. You’re gonna have to get your mittens dirty, guys.
The beer will be supplied by the store's neighbour, Lovebucket, because what’s better than a cold brew to wash down copious servings of fried chicken? For all you vegetarian-goers there’s even a “chicken fried tofu” on offer. Apparently this is the business. Tastes like chicken, but it’s tofu, and then fried—winner winner.
We’re getting hungry just thinking about this beauty. A collab of Chinese and American fusion flavour bombs, what more could you want in life? Grab your squad, your beau or just rock on over by yourself. There’s no judgement at the BCD!
