Let us introduce you to this brilliantly awful music rave that you didn't know you wanted to attend...until now.
Returning to New Zealand after sold-out shows around the world, Tomás Ford is back for another year with his Crap Music Rave Party.
Still confused? Let us explain.
Basically, this terribly brilliant man has created a worldwide phenomena that includes everyone's not-so-guilty music pleasures. For all of the times your drunken DJ requests were denied and your tone-deaf shower sessions to Smashmouth fell flat, you can now come together in one space and celebrate these monumental moments and song choices.
No request is denied—the crappier, the better! However, good music is frowned upon. Cool kids, look away now. If you need some inspo, allow us to be at service. Think City High, Boyz II Men, Hilary Duff, Darius, Avril Lavigne and the rest of the throwback team.
Taking place at Auckland’s own Galatos venue, this mid-week event is expected to be a complete sell-out. Piled high with tacky decorations, glowsticks and balloons, the event space promises to be a spectacle in itself.
Don’t be too cool for school—you know you want to go. Oh, and no cringing allowed.
