Love dessert? Stupid question, who doesn’t! If you don’t want to feel guilty about enjoying sweet treats at some of Auckland’s finest establishments, then you’re in the right place. Auckland Transport have teamed up with food and travel writer extraordinaire, Delaney Mes, to present the Cake Walk.
Taking place in the Auckland CBD, Delaney will take you through laneways and teach you about the ever-changing ways that our fine city is becoming more walking-friendly and accessible.
But it’s about your stomach, right? The first stop on your dessert degustation tour is none other than our fave, Giapo. On our list of the top 50 things to do in Auckland, this gelato hot spot will dish up a spectacular and probably unpredictable creation in a cone.
Stop two is at Hotel DeBrett, where you’ll be treated to a refreshing champagne cocktail for a bubbly and delicious way to cleanse your palate.
Refreshed and revitalised, you’ll make your way to Fort Street, where Brian Campbell’s Miann awaits you with a chocolate surprise. These decadent little treats are a total luxury.
And last, but certainly not least, you’ll finish at Britomart’s Milse.
By then, you’ll have strolled around two and a half kilometers, which will surely lessen any guilt you feel for stuffing your face with all the goodness. We would be hard pressed to find a better way of spending a winter’s eve.
