Let’s face it, when one of your favourite wines and one of your favourite venues collide, magic happens. And that’s exactly what has happened with Cloudy Bay wine and 46 & York joining forces to create an exciting new pop-up, Cloudy Bay Come Sail Away.
The Urban List went along to the Parnell venue last night to check it out and let’s just say we were more than impressed!
The venue has been dressed to impress with a wall of dark green foliage offset against the elegant and beautiful décor. There’s a large bar table for a shared experience, outdoor seating to welcome the spring warmth, as well as a sit down restaurant area.
The team has invited up-and-coming chef Sam Mannering (of Homestead fame) to create the menu and it’s every bit as mouth-watering as you would expect. His four-course menu serves some mighty delicious (and local) fare.
There are oysters and then lobster tails so soft and tender they literally melt in your mouth. He then adds confit pork belly to the menu, followed by lamb scottadito with artichoke peso. It may sound simple, but he’s added his own touch and flare to them all—and the results are delicious.
And…to top it all off, each dish is paired with a wine from Cloudy Bay. These include an exclusive release of back vintages and includes Cloudy Bay Pelorus NV, a Sauv blanc, a Cloudy Bay 2014 Chardonnay and a 2014 Pinot Noir.
Guests are invited to sit down in the restaurant, or enjoy the flavours tapas-style in the bar area.
The Cloudy Bay Come Sail Away pop-up will only be around for a month, and if last night is anything to go by, 46 & York will be buzzing with energy the entire time!
