If you’re anything like us, you’re counting down the days until October 27 (FYI only 57 sleeps to go). Why? Because that’s when season two of Stranger Things (finally) premieres.
If the wait is too much to handle, stop what you’re doing and book a one-way ticket to Chicago, because a Stranger Things pop-up bar has opened and it’s everything your Eleven-obsessed heart ever wanted.
Called, of course, The Upside Down, the bar plays homage to the much-loved Netflix show. Step inside and you’ll be magically transported to the Byers’ family lounge. Behind a cushion-covered couch, the wall is adorned with colourful Christmas lights and an alphabet scrawled in black ink. Watch carefully and you might decode a message from Will.
As for the drinks, you’ll find seven cocktails—including their signature drink ‘Eleven’s Eggos’. The bourbon-based slushie is flavoured with maple syrup and garnished with a toasted Eggo waffle—too good!
There are two exclusive craft beers on tap: ‘Survive’ and ‘Friends Don’t Lie’. And, better yet, the bar taps are decorated with a portrait of Barb (RIP). Speaking of, there’s also a ‘What About Barb?!’ slot machine and the bar’s surround street lights are covered in ‘missing’ flyers for Barb. Is this not the best pop-up ever?!
Book your tickets quick-smart—The Upside Down is open until the end of September. It’s cool if we sneak into your suitcase, right?
