Titanic Live Is Coming To Auckland!

By Bella Askelund - 23 Aug 2017

Oh to grow up in 1912—a decade that planted the romance into dating. Well at least that’s what The Titanic has us believing.

We've witnessed the boat goers dine with such enviable etiquette, dance ballroom style on the reg and paint like Picasso like it was no big deal. It's no wonder lovebugs Jack and Rose have the ability to leave us laughing and crying while simultaneously oozing with relationship FOMO every time! We could literally watch this movie over and over and over, and it’d be a teaching of pure class every time. Cudos to Mr James Cameron but it's become clear why many of us remain single...we're still searching for our Jack Dawson, duuh.

To celebrate the films 20th anniversary in true style, Auckland’s Civic Theatre is welcoming a renowned performance of ‘Titanic Live’ . Here you’ll see the iconic film playing on the Civic's big-screen while its original musical score is performed LIVE alongside. Yep, that’s right. The 72 piece Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra and the North Shore Children’s Choir have teamed up to bring us the theatre preview of a lifetime. Get ready to relive the golden days friends, this is going to be an emotional rollercoaster to witness.

What may be the perfect opportunity to spoil yourself to an evening of romance. The performance is set to impress with a British conductor, London-based vocalist and American soloist joining the team. Grab yourselves a bottle (or two) of bubbles and a cheeky ice cream to devour through the tense mo’s—Or perhaps a cheese board would be more suited? Because when Jacks telling Rose he won’t let her go, we’ll be squeezing our beau's hand, or crying into a pile of tissues. Either way, the champange has our back.
