What would a week in Auckland be without a market visit? Totally incomplete, we say! Expect all of your weeks in April to be phenomenal ‘cause you’ll be market hopping all month long.

Treat yourself to all that Auckland’s market scene has to offer, from the weekly faves to some Easter-themed markets, as well as a spiritual one, and a couple of vintage markets thrown in the April mix—there really is something for every market-lover this month:

Orakei Market

This local gem has everything your market-dreams could wish for. Mouth-watering, locally made eats and beverages, as well as artisan crafts for any hard to buy birthdays coming up (and something for you, of course). Chill out with live music as you sprawl across one of the beanbags, and the little ones can get in on the activity tables and free Capoeria (Brazilian martial arts!) classes.

Your wardrobe will be looking flasher than ever with loads of pin-up, rockabilly and vintage fashion all ready to be swept away!

Looking for some true gems? Te Atatu Penninsula Artisan & Handcraft Market

Us Kiwis sure have a knack for creativity, and here you’ll find an abundance of it! Expect stalls and stalls of jewellery, hand-poured soy candles (swoon!), toys and traditional handcrafts. Don’t expect to rush out of there so soon, either—there’ll be plenty of space to chill out on the village green, after grabbing a coffee from one of the fabulous eateries just a hop and a skip away from the markets!

Sabato Easter Market Day

Known for the best of the best of imported European and local artisan goodies, you know this special Easter market from Sabato has got to be a good one. Avid cheese lovers, this one’s for you—they’re cracking a whole wheel of Vacche Rosse Parmigiano Reggiano, an incredibly special cheese made from the milk of red cows! Pretty much cheese heaven, but it doesn’t stop there! There’ll be gourmet food trucks, fresh produce and fresh bread and Easter treats in-store!

Alberton Market Days

One of the most gorgeous market experiences you’ll have around Auckland, you best get excited for this one. Set in the stunning Alberton Estate, this outdoor market has it all—fresh flowers, specialty produce, handmade crafts, and even a pop-up tearoom overlooking the markets serving tea in vintage china, with scones and jam. Some standout food trucks will be parked up for your pleasure too—we’re talking Delboys Hotdogs, Sabores Argentinian and Mister Gelato to top it all off. The word is that Alberton’s first batch of honey will be launching then, so look out for it, along with a free talk from the beekeepers themselves!

Matakana Vintage Market

Already a market buzzing with popularity, Matakana Markets upping its game, and transforming into a picturesque scene of up-cycled, vintage and rockabilly fashion! You’ll find some rare and one-off pieces here for sure, and free live music from local and international acts will keep you grooving as you browse. Old school fabulousness at its best!

This travelling market is making its way to the ‘burb of Mt Eden this April! Get ready to come home with bags full of delightful home wares, handcrafted kids products and much, much more! If you haven’t been to this enchanting part of the city, this is your excuse to make a trip, stat! Located in the heart of Historic Puhoi Village, escape the hustle and bustle of city life and get amongst all of their offerings made with love, from the local seasonal produce at the community stall, fresh bread, to fresh preserves and locally smoked deli products. Of course, you’d just have to make a day of it and visit the Puhoi Cottage Tearooms or the Puhoi Valley Cheese shop!
