All Of The Auckland Markets You Need To Visit This March

If you’re after a lazy way to spend the day, or are after some top-nosh treats (food or not food related!) markets are the perfect, stroll-worthy way to pass the time and treat yo’self. And, lucky for us, Auckland has quite a few.

With a few of the regulars making an appearance and featuring some newbies in town, read on to discover where you’ll be spending most of your time (and money!) this March, at these marvellous Auckland markets!

Riverhead Craft Market

Locals love it and we have gotta say, we’re a big fan too! Back after a two year hiatus, the Riverhead Craft Market is better than ever! With stalls upon stalls of local and Kiwi-made goods, there’s no doubt you won’t be leaving empty handed. With a four-hour window to make the most of the goodies and treats, be sure to get in quick so you don’t miss out on the products on offer. Without revealing too much, expect to see lots of food, clothing, gifts, homewares and much, much more!

Devonport Craft & Fine Food Market

No matter which side of the bridge you live on, make sure you’re on the north side for the Devonport Craft & Fine Food Market, this March! Held in the Devonport Community House, this market is offering visitors ample browsing opportunities with the diverse and delightful range of stalls on offer. Think hand-crafted homewares, unique and high-quality gifts, homemade foodie delights and a whole lot more. Perfect for the whole family, friends or for dragging round the other half, make a day of it and perhaps even get your Christmas shopping done, nine months early!

General Collective Market Day

You’re gonna need your best pair of browsing goggles for this one, peeps. With more than 250 —yes, you heard correctly, 250!—stalls on display, the General Collective Market Day isn’t for the faint hearted. Boasting stalls and stands from some of New Zealand’s best sellers and independent brands, you can expect to find something completely gorgeous and unique here. Add in the fact that some of Auckland’s best street food vendors will be making an appearance and you’ve got yourself one heck of a good day out!

Alberton Market Days

Held in the beyond beautiful Alberton estate, you couldn’t get a prettier market experience if you tried. Alberton Market Days is back for March and comes complete with a fantastic line-up of vendors and activities. With lip-smackingly good stalls such as Double Dutch Fries, Mister Gelato and Paella Pan, just to name a few, you won’t be leaving hungry, that’s for sure! Add in an abundance of home-made gifts and treats and you’ve got your Sunday sorted!

Coatesville Market

Come rain, hail or shine, you can bet your bottom dollar that Coatesville Market will be going strong! With an amazing atmosphere and true-blue community feeling, visiting Coatesville Market will have you smiling in seconds. Not to mention, the incredible stalls and vendors that go into making this a great, family-friendly day out, along with a beautiful setting and great, gift buying opportunities!

Now open in an all new location at Britomart, along with our old fave in Parnell, La Cigale have earned a special place in our hearts, through the form of French style foods, fresh produce and much, much more. With salivate-worthy smells wafting through the air and tempting treats round every corner, the only hard decision you’ll have all day, is which stall to visit first!

Mount Eden Village Craft Market

For a quaint and true celebration of all things New Zealand-made, visit Mount Eden Village Craft Market this March. With various gifts, trinkets and treats on offer, all lovingly made, right here in Aotearoa, you can be sure to find the perfect something for that last-minute prezzie. Enjoy a leisurely stroll around the stalls and why not indulge in a craft beer at The Garden Shed afterwards?

Okay, so we may have found the most idyllic and picturesque market, ever. Matakana Farmers Market is not only set in one of Auckland’s most beautiful regions, it also continues to amaze us with it’s gorgeous produce, beyond tranquil atmosphere and the lovely locals and stall-holders that reside there. Fill your bag with slurp-tastic wines, fine olive oils, organic chocolates, fresh fruit and veg, as you listen to the live music and decide on the furniture to go inside your dream, Matakana house, which you will buy one day!

City Farmers’ Markets

If you’re not one to leave city life behind but still enjoy a good, old market, never fear, City Farmers Markets are here! Located on Auckland’s very own Gore Street, punters will get to enjoy only the freshest and most delicious home-grown produce, ever! Think freshly baked breads, seasonal fruit and veg, meat, oils, coffee and condiments galore. With hungry bellies and empty bags, head over to this inner-city gem to stock up, fill up and start your day off in the best way poss!
