Big news, guys! If you spend both time on the Shore and in the city, then get ready for some truly awesome changes. The Auckland SkyPath—a walk and cycleway across the Harbour Bridge—has been given the go ahead and we couldn’t be more excited.
Soon enough, you’ll be able to say adios to the stuffy buses and bumper-to-bumper commutes in exchange for a stroll (or cycle) in the fresh, Auckland air. The semi-enclosed walkway aims to connect our city’s communities with thousands of Aucklanders and visitors set to cross the stunning Waitemata Harbour each day.
A one-way crossing of the $30 million project will cost $2 to $3, a heck of a lot cheaper than a bus ride, plus you’ll hit your 30-minute exercise quota like a boss. Whether you’re looking to use the path for your daily commute or love your weekend walks, the SkyPath is exactly what us Aucklanders have been waiting for.
