Sorry smoothies, it appears we’ve neglected you. Milkshakes, cocktails and craft beer have been getting all the beverage love as of late—something our tastebuds are grateful for, but possibly not our bodies.

When your energy levels are zapped and a nutrient hasn’t passed your mouth in days, it’s a tell-tale sign you need one of Auckland’s best superfood smoothies.

We’ve rounded up the most delicious superfood smoothies from Auckland's best cafes, now all you have to do is go out and get them.

Zest Natural

Devonport

Must try: The Berry Green

Zest Natural is one of Devonport’s best kept superfood smoothie secrets. They have an impressive number of shots (health food shots, you rager) including wheatgrass, acai, spirulina, chia seeds and kombucha, so make sure you add a couple to your Berry Green.

Ceres Fresh Market

Ponsonby

Must try: The Ginger Dream

You’ll find this juice and smoothie bar in Ponsonby Central, where they blend up some of the best superfood smoothies in Auckland. All Ceres Fresh Market’s smoothies are dairy free, using organic ingredients and activated nuts. Their Ginger Dream is an actual dream smoothie made with banana, ginger, cashews, lemon, and extra virgin coconut oil. Yum!

Little Bird Unbakery

Ponsonby

Must try: The Detox Green

This, dear readers, is the a whole lotta goodness packed into one green-as-can-be smoothie. Little Bird Unbakery’s Detox Green could be seen as a blended salad, but with the help of grapefruit, lemon, ginger and turmeric, the kale, parsley and coriander smoothie goes down a treat.

Ethos Café

New Lynn

Must try: The Choc And Go

When the chocolate cravings won’t bugger off, get your mitts on Ethos Café’s Choc And Go—raw cacao powder, banana, hemp seeds, almonds milk and free dried raspberries. They hunt far and wide for the best certified organic ingredients to use in their smoothies so you know you’re in for a legit superfood hit.

Little King

Milford

Must try: The Superfood Peanut Butter Blueberry Smoothie

All Little King’s smoothies are crazy tasty, but we can’t go past their Superfood Peanut Butter Blueberry smoothie. This bad boy is blasted with raw superfood protein (them gains), peanut butter, banana, blueberries, organic almond milk and Nice cream. Grow muscles, grow!

Wilder & Hunt

Ponsonby

Must try: The Immune Booster

Keep niggly illnesses at bay with Wilder & Hunt’s Immune Booster. Found deep in the Amazon, the Camu Camu plant produces a berry loaded with antioxidants, nutrients, and supposedly 56 times more Vitamin C than a lemon… how about that? This ends up with blueberries, bananas, red cabbage, chia seeds and raw honey in the Immune Booster.

Organic Mechanic

Parnell

Must try: The Hercules

The Organic Mechanic lads can be found at La Cigale French Market on the weekends, selling their smoothies and kickass kombucha. Made with banana, strawberry, choc-pea-protein, maca powder, hemp oil, cacao nibs, cinnamon AND almond milk (yep, that’s one superfood smoothie), The Hercules is one of the best superfood smoothies in Auckland.

Mondays

Kingsland

Must try: The Wilderness

Dandelion in a smoothie? Don’t kick it ‘til you try it. Mondays’ Wilderness smoothie will make your insides happy with dandelion, kale, spinach, celery, kiwifruit, pear, banana, spirulina, goji berries, filtered H2O and bee pollen—it’s a truly super superfood smoothie.
