Let’s face it, the dark, cold days of winter could use a little magic and boy, do we have some news for you! Kicking off this weekend, a magical light walk is coming to Auckland.
As part of the Matariki celebrations, the trail of lights will begin from the Te Oro Music Centre and cultural performances by kapa haka groups, hip-hop dancers and more will be keeping us entertained. The Te Ara Rama Matariki Light Trail is now in its sixth year, and combines light, music and creativity across nine (nine!) themes.
Snug up nice and warm and brave the chilly night air for an enchanting journey along a flax-lined path. With thousands of fairy lights and vibrant pops of colour intertwined with the landscape, you’ll feel like you’re in a fairy-tale!
And, if you’re there on Saturday night, stick around until 9.15pm when a fireworks display lights up the sky!
And the best news yet? It’s FREE!
