Good for you, good for the community and good for the environment. This festival is all about spreading the good vibes!
Kelmarna Community Garden is having their annual Autumn Festival to fundraise to keep their garden going strong. Everything is grown organically and therefore requires a little more effort since they do not rely on chemical pallets or sprays to discourage pests or accelerate growth. Bring your reusable bags because you cannot leave without picking up some probably odd-looking but absolutely damn delicious fruit and veges.
Come down and meet the many locals: bees, worms, hens, cows, Jaffa the pony and the cool Kelmarna crew.
Nourishing you this Sunday will be Orphans Kitchen with a classic barbie in the paddock. Could you get more Kiwi than this? The good people of Bread and Butter Café will be there with their organic, sourdough, flavour-full bread. Little Bird Unbakery will start a raw revolution as they prove that healthy can taste good. To cool you down they’ll be Nice Blocks and kombucha from the Organic Mechanic. And grab a sweet and salty snack from Serious Popcorn, because it is really good (seriously).
This is a festival done the Kelmarna way (keep up with Kelmarna). Not only will there be delicious treats but you will be able to learn a thing or two about the dos and don’ts of food foraging, bee-keeping and composting, as well as fermented foods by Little Bird Unbakery to help you create those good for you, gut-lovin’ probiotics at home.
Ditch ya kids in the kids corner to go away with the fairy, make some crafty creations, play and learn a little bit about the perks of GIY (grow it yourself).
