At The Urban List, we love a good threesome. Mind out of the gutter, folks! We’re talking about Fed Deli’s three-way pie combo. This dessert allows you to pick and choose three of their much-loved dessert pies. There’s a classic New York cheesecake, pumpkin pie, banoffee pie or lemon meringue pie. We’re pretty sure this dessert is made to be shared, but today we’re talking decadence and that means having all three slices yourself. You can do it!
Volcano at Oko Dessert Kitchen
There’s no shortage of volcanos in Auckland and they’re taking over the dessert scene! At Oko Dessert Kitchen their their steaming chocolate volcano is out of this world. Sitting on a bed of chocolate crumble and brownie, you’ll find a caramelia volcano-shaped mousse. The dessert is served with a jug of hot chocolate sauce aka chocolate lava! Not only is it delicious, but it’s also extremely Instagramable!
Choc Pot at The Blue Breeze Inn
No list of decadent Auckland desserts would be complete without mention of The Blue Breeze Inn’s infamous choc pot pudding. Dig into the baked chocolate fondant and you’ll find an oozy centre that will delight your sweet tooth. It’s served with a drizzle of coffee syrup and a big ol’ scoop of chocolate ganache. A word of warning: this beast of a dessert is hella rich. Good luck getting through it all by yourself.
Dessert Buffet at Eight
Guess what? All-you-can-eat dessert is a thing in Auckland. Yup, you read that right—all you can eat! Visit Langham Hotel between 9pm and 11pm to devour Eight’s dessert buffet. You’ll be feasting on the likes of panna cotta, crème brûlée, cakes and pastries. The best part? They have a chocolate fountain—ermahgerd! Load up your skewer with fruit and marshmallows and get dipping. Talk about dessert dreams coming true.
Rhubarb Dessert at Soul Bar & Bistro
If you’re big on all things rhubarb, nip into Soul Bar & Bistro and order their decadent rhubarb delight. You’ll be spooning into poached rhubarb, rhubarb custard, buttermilk panna cotta and white chocolate ice-cream. Textures are aplenty in this pretty as a picture dessert—the ingredients are piped, crumbed and spooned to create a pink masterpiece.
Dessert Degustation at Milse
Treat your dessert-lovin’ bae to the ultimate degustation: Milse’s three-course dessert. Step inside the intimate Britomart eatery and you’ll be treated to three dishes from their heavenly menu. The menu changes seasonally so you never know what you’re in for—but that’s half the fun! If you’re lucky enough to nab a seat at the bar, you can watch the chefs work their magic as they create the intricate dishes.
Death By Chocolate at Chocolate Boutique
With a name like death by chocolate, it’s no surprise this Chocolate Boutique dessert is mighty decadent. Order this bad boy and you’ll be served a ginormous ice-cream sundae topped with all the trimmings—mousse, sauce, cream and a chocolate fish for good measure. It’s undoubtedly the biggest sundae in town. Grab your spoon, dig in and brace yourself for a chocolate coma.
Chocoholic Waffles at House Of Chocolate Dessert Café
Speaking of chocolate, allow us to introduce you to House Of Chocolate Dessert Cafe’s chocoholic waffles. This dessert is not for the faint-hearted. Expect to be served a waffle stacked high with chocolate ice-cream, house-made brownie, ganache and cream. It’s then generously drizzled with liquid dark chocolate. It’s a hot mess of chocolatey goodness and it’s every bit decadent.
Monet at Delectable Desserts
Soup isn’t just about vegetables, y’know. At Delectable Desserts they serve up chocolate soup. The Elliot Stables dessert restaurant names their dishes after famous artists—yup, da Vinci, van Gogh and Renoir are all on the menu. The Monet dessert features a thick, rich chocolate soup served with a side of chocolate mousse and three blinis. The small pancakes are perfect for dipping in the soup and to mop up every last bit of chocolate.
Baked Cookie Dough at Big Fish Eatery
Everyone knows cookies are best enjoyed when they’re fresh out the oven. Get your gooey, soft cookie fix with Big Fish Eatery’s baked cookie dough dessert. The have two offerings on the menu: white chocolate with macadamia or dark chocolate with peanut butter. They come served in a piping hot skillet with a dollop of melting vanilla ice-cream on top. Can’t decide between the two flavours? Order one of each because #yolo.
Crunch Tower Freak Milkshakes at Casa Del Gelato
Make sure you’re hungry (and thirsty) when you rock up to Parnell’s Casa Del Gelato. Their signature dish is their aptly named crunch tower mega freak milkshakes. These bad boys defy gravity being stacked with ALL the things—cream, biscuits, chocolate, sauce, doughnuts, candy floss…get the point? Ten points if you manage to slurp up every last mouthful.
