In celebration of Auckland Pride Festival, the Aussie cabaret spectacular, Briefs is shimmying its way to the City of Sails. Described as ‘Cirque du Soleil meets Ru Paul’s Drag Race’, Briefs is a fast-paced, thrills and spills show with an all-male cast led by New Zealand-born Samoan, Fez Faanana a.k.a. Shivannah.
Six Aussies and one New Yorker have been dancing, tumbling, wowing and glitter bombing around the globe since 2008, and now they’re setting foot on Kiwi soil for four nights only. Brief’s talented men will take the stage (white Calvin’s, drag make-up, feather-laden costumes and all) at ASB Theatre from Wednesday 17th to Saturday 20th February for a showcase of extravagant ‘boylesque’.
With Captain Kidd, the ripped god of bathing, spraying the audience from his bird bath, Dallas Dellaforce putting on a glam avant-garde drag performance, hand balancer and aerial hoop expert, Thomas Worrell captivating the crowd from up high, as well as Evil Hate Monkey, and fresh-faced circus brats Lachy Shelley and Louis Biggs melting hearts left, right and centre, Briefs will have everyone gagging for more.
From aerial acrobatics, fabulous fanfares, eye-boggling contortionism and show-stopping drag artistes, Briefs is set to ooze with glamour and athleticism, sure to get you woohoo-ing from your cabaret table.
Tickets and tables are selling out fast! So rally your squad, slip into your six-inch heels and bring your best party game for an unmissable evening of burlesque… with balls!
