Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are cool and stuff, but dessert is where the real magic happens. While some people wave away the menu after mains, we’ve chosen our happy ending before the meal’s even begun—priorities, right?

Because dessert = life, we sacrificed our diets to track down Auckland’s most insane dessert café: Circus Circus. Located in the heart of Mt Eden Village, the circus-themed café serves good, honest tucker right around the clock and—of course—epic desserts.

When it comes to all things sweet, Circus Circus doesn’t do things by halves. Their desserts are just how we like them—rich, dense and stupidly big. Work your way through the mouth-watering menu with these insane desserts…

Dip Into Molten Chocolate

After a sweet date idea (pun intended)? Woo your lover with Circus Circus’ chocolate fondue for two. Star into bae’s eyes as you dip fresh fruit, house-made marshmallows, biscotti and chunks of brownie into the warm, molten chocolate. Make it an AO-dessert by opting to add Baileys, Frangelico or Kahlua.

Devour Decadent Cakes

Circus Circus has earned a reputation of serving the biggest, baddest slices of cake in town—seriously, they’re HUGE. Whatever your fave flav, chances are they’ve got on offer. Think chocolate, banoffee, and carrot cake with a super-thick layer of cream cheese frosting—get in my belly! If you’ve got dietary requirements, the orange and almond cake ticks the boxes as gluten and dairy-free.

Crack Into Crème Brûlée

The deliciousness doesn’t stop there. No way, José—we’re just getting started! If you love a) salted caramel and b) crème brûlée, get amongst both… at the same time! Yep, Circus serve a salted caramel crème brûlée, torched to perfection and ready for you to crack into. The unmissable dessert also comes with a pistachio and apricot biscotti for good measure.

Demolish Crunchie Cheesecake

Circus Circus has taken humble Crunchie bar to a whole level. Order their insane Crunchie bar cheesecake and you’ll be served a mammoth slice of pure deliciousness. The talented team fold pieces of Crunchie through a chocolate cheesecake before setting it on a malt biscuit base. It’s then lovingly sprinkled with even more pieces of Crunchie for your eating pleasure.

Save Room For A Cake Jar!

When it comes to all things sweet, Circus like to keep things inventive. Their latest creation? Cake jars! While the flavours change on the regular, the deconstructed dessert features biscuit crumb, chunks of chocolate cake, piped mousse, and an all-important chocolate bliss ball. Served in a jar (duh), the dessert is topped with your fave chocolate bar (such as the likes of Snickers, Bounty or Milky Bar).

Finish With A Hot Chocolate Mug

All that eating is sure to make one thirsty. Continue your chocolate overload (go hard or go home, right?!) with a well-deserved hot choccy. Served in a literal bowl, the comforting drink is—like everything from Circus Circus—ginormous. If you don’t like hot chocolate (say what?!), opt for a mug bowl of mocha, latta or chai latte. Sip to your heart’s content and brace yourself for one heck of a food coma.
