We Discovered A Secret Chai Lounge
This week we revealed one of Auckland’s newest and best kept secrets, and you lost your shit! Down a narrow alleyway and behind a curtain made from an old coffee sack, there’s a chai lounge. Satya Spice and Chai Shop is a magical spot where you can enjoy Indian street food with a bevvie. More here.
Project Botanicals Returns
After selling out last year, Project Botanicals is back! This year, the pop-up is hosted at Eat My Lunch. Guests will be served up delicious creations by Michael Meredith, with each dish paired with a special cocktail that shows off the botanicals found in the signature blue bottle. The venue has been transformed, with tables surrounded by lush vegetation so you truly do feel as if you’ve left the city behind.

If you live in Ponsonby or just happen to be passing through, then make sure you go to the Three Lamps end, where Nespresso has set up Creatista Café. From 7am to 2pm you can wander in for a free coffee and even some expert barista advice about how to do latte art (you always wanted to know, right?) Click here for all the details.
Sundays At TRUE
Since Nic Watt and his wife Kellie launched TRUE Food & Yoga in July this year, it’s quickly become everything you’ve ever wanted. There’s not many places where you can get fit, have a facial and then enjoy a bevvie and delicious food created by one of Auckland’s top chefs…all while overlooking spectacular ocean views! And now, TRUE is upping the ante once again—this time to transform your Sundays. Teaming up with Aperol, for the next three Sundays, there will be live acoustic music by Ciaran McKeeken, platters of food and that classic Italian drink, Aperol Spritz. See you there!

Thorntons Hits Auckland
When a courier arrived to our offices this week with a suitcase (a cardboard one, but still super cool) it piqued our curiosity. And, this suitcase was the kind of suitcase one always wants to receive—it was filled with chocolate! And then, there was a squeal of delight from one of our writers—Martha, who’s British. Turns out Thorntons chocolate is a serious thing in Europe and it’s now hitting Auckland. With more than 100 year’s experience behind them, trust us, this is one chocolate brand you’ll want to get onto quick smart. Available at selected supermarkets.

Keep an eye on their Facebook page for deets of how to get one, and stock up on your Smirnoff Pure at your liquor outlets.
An Asian Fusion Restaurant Opens In Newmarket
Newmarket is one lucky ‘burb with the opening of Tucks and Bao. With a whopping seven options of bao buns to choose from, there’s pretty much something for everyone. There’s a relaxed vibe and the venue is filled with mouth-watering aromas to keep your belly very, very happy.
