Auckland’s favourite bookstore, The Hard To Find Bookshop, has moved from their iconic Onehunga spot to a brand new location in Eden Terrace. Founded in 1983 in owner Warwick Jordan’s garage, The Hard To Find Bookshop moved to Onehunga five years later and stayed there for nearly three decades.
Towards the end of 2017 The Hard To Find Bookshop faced some trouble as rates went up. A Givealittle page was started to save the business and loyal fans from around the world got on board to protect this wee gem of a bookstore. More than $25,000 was raised and this has provided Jordan with the finances needed to move to a new and improved venue.
Now located in a beautiful historic building on St Benedicts Street in Eden Terrace, The Hard To Find Bookshop has a new home but carries the same heart. Full to the brim of shelves upon shelves and stacks upon stacks of books, it remains the perfect way to wile away a afternoon. Whether you’re after classic literature, cookbooks, children’s books, sheet music or philosophy textbooks, The Hard To Find Bookshop has everything your heart could ever desire. With plenty of rare and collectable books to boot, The Hard To Find Bookshop is a bookworm’s dream. Swing by and check out their new digs—just make sure you’ve got some time on your hands cos you’ll never want to leave!
