Must-See Movies This July

Another month means another line-up of movies that we need to get on to ASAP! July’s a crucial month for movies as it’s the go-to activity on the agenda in the chilly season. Although the weather forecast is bleak, July is looking pretty bright in the movie scene as the upcoming releases tick all the genres from a good old animation, blockbusters, action, drama and even a musical!

Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation

Starting July off with a bang is part three of Hotel Transylvania. Old or young, there's nothing so good as an animation! The third chapter of Hotel Transylvania is based on the Dracula’s summer vacation with his family on a luxury Monster Cruise Ship. Watch the cold-hearted Dracula fall in love with the ship captain (who is actually his ancient archenemy) and Mavis try to save him from getting in to deep trouble before it’s too late.

The Heart Of Man

On a more serious note is the screening of The Heart of Man. Released in 2017, The Heart of Man earned rave reviews for its cinematography and complex retelling of concepts such as sin and redemption. This is a heavy film that explores intense topics such as sexual brokenness and addiction while incorporating religion in to the documentary film. It is highly-acclaimed by movie critics and one not to miss!

The Escape

If you’re in the mood for dramatic and superb acting performance, The Escape is the film to watch this July. Watch Gemma Arterton become disconnected to her role as a young stay-at-home mother as she becomes slowly consumed by depression before she makes the bold decision to buy herself a one-way ticket to Paris. Take part on her journey of rediscovering herself in a brand new city as she tackles the problems that come with starting a brand new life.

Ant-Man And The Wasp

Marvel fans, unite! Ant-Man and The Wasp comes this July and we just know it’s going to be a goodie. Following on from the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War, Scott Lang is faced with obstacles and struggles as he tries to juggle his life between being a super hero and a father. Just to make matters even worse, he’s approached with another mission and teams up with The Wasp as the uncover secrets from their past together.

Mamma Mia! – Here We Go Again

The classic musical/comedy is back and better than ever this July! And yes, the cast remain the same which means the dynamic duo Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried will be gracing our screens once again! Watch Sophie find out more about Donna’s past like how she came to start up the villa to more touching aspects like the uncovering of the strength Donna had in raising Sophie with no guidance. To spice things up a little bit, Sophie’s grandmother decides to unexpectedly bring herself back in to the lives of the mother and daughter which leads to a whole lot more that we can’t wait to see.

Whitney

Speaking of music, we can’t not mention the documentary of the much loved and never forgotten Whitney Houston. Directed by Oscar-winning Kevin Macdonald, this is an in-depth look at the life and music of the singing legend through raw interviews and footage from her past. The documentary catches the highs and the lows of Whitney Houston and provides the opportunity to reminisce on her greatness.
