Ponsonby is home to a Thai-rrifc new eatery! The latest masterpiece from the brilliant minds behind the recently closed Moo Chow Chow and the beloved Blue Breeze Inn, Go Go Daddy Thai Canteen is nothing short of brilliant, whisking diners away on a journey through the flavours of Thailand.

Transforming what was Honey Bear, the freshly revamped space features a playful mural to add to an already colourful fit out. Dynamic duo and dream team Mark Wallbank and Che Barrington have done it again, infused with plenty of personality, creativity and flavours that’ll knock your socks off. There’s no doubt its love at first bite.

The drool-worthy menu is a culmination of cult faves of Moo Chow Chow and swoon-worthy new creations that are sure to have you coming back for more. From the floating markets of Bangkok straight to your table, everything that leaves the kitchen will no doubt have you hooked in seconds.

Kick things off with the refreshing green papaya salad. Aromatic and moreish,  it’s the perfect appetiser for the feast to come.

Those mourning the closure of the legendary Moo Chow Chow will find comfort in knowing select faves have made a triumphant return. Namely, the epic caramelized pork hock, a mountain of sweet, sticky (not to mention addictive) goodness served with cucumber and chilli relish, and local fave pork and prawn eggnet—the parcel of happiness we don’t know what we’ve done without.

But wait, there’s more! From next week onwards, keep an eye out for Che’s take on nam mu. Jammed-packed with texture this bad boy features cured pork matched with the crunch of crispy squid. Yum!

Don’t forget a cocktail! Affectionately named after the characters in the mural, you won’t be able to stop at just one of these concoctions. With hints of Thai flavours throughout, our top picks include the fiery runaway dragon and twerkilicious big booty bubble tea!

You didn’t think we forgot about the sweet treats, did you? Perhaps the most nostalgic dessert in town, the MILO® chocolate mousse is just the thing for us kids at heart. With salted caramel popcorn and fried banana to boot, you’ll quickly be crafting up an excuse to start dinner with dessert. (Which by the way, is completely acceptable).

Yep, they’ve done it again, showing us how it’s done you’re going to want to go go on down to Ponsonby Central and pay daddy a visit for a bite of the magnificent.
