K' Road has seen its fair share of new openings as of late. Notable bars and must-visit eateries are popping up left, right and centre. But hello, where's a good brew when you need one? Cue, Holm. Open just shy of a week, this new kid on the block will be caffeinating the colourful area's residents with some serious coffee. Their specialty coffee options include Red Rabbit pour overs, Fetco brew and of course espresso.
If you've got hunger pangs, their simple but tasty offerings are sure to help—new takes on the humble toast, the all-essential museli and fresh foccacia sandwiches. And as the nights become longer they'll be serving a curated selection of top-notch beers and wines.
Holm's interior would be best described as minimalist. In fact, if you looked up minimalist, you'd most likely find a picture of this exact cafe. Exposed metal beams and cinderblocks make up the fixed interiors while black tables and beech wood chairs line the main wall.
What makes this cafe unique however is the attached shared workspace. Owners Cameron Thorp and Steffan Levet are all about a collaborate approach when it comes to work. So why not do that in a cafe environment? Desks are available for rent on a month-to-month basis. Seriously, freelancers and small business owners rejoice— this is one office that will get your creativity flowing. But even if you're not in the market for a desk the pair want you to know you're more than welcome to pull up a pew with your laptop and work in the cafe.
Combining no-fuss cafe culture with a collaborative work space is simply a genius idea. So much so that this article may or may not have been composed there. We have an inkling Holm is going to become a second home to many, including us.
